Located in the south of the Majestic Eastern Himalayas in the Indian state of Assam is the Manas national park reverberating with wildlife. This national park has earned itself more titles than any other wildlife hotspot. Other than being a national park and a UNESCO world heritage site, it is also an elephant reserve, a tiger reserve, and a biosphere reserve. This Indian wildlife hotspot shares its border with Bhutan’s Royal national park.

 

Fauna Diversity of Manas National Park

 

Currently, the sanctuary is home to 380 species of birds, 50 species of reptiles, three species of amphibians, and 55 species of mammals. Out of a total of 55 mammals species, 21 are in India’s Schedule I, and 31 of them are in the list of threatened species. It has gained the popularity for sheltering endangered indigenous wildlife such as the golden langur, pygmy hog, hispid hare, and Assamese roofed turtle and wild Asian water buffalo.

 

Other main attractions from a long list include Indian rhinoceros, gaurs, hoolock gibbons, dholes, slow loris, barasingha, Indian leopards, Indian tigers, clouded leopards, Asian golden cats, Indian elephants, capped langurs, black panthers, Assamese macaques, smooth-coated otters, sloth bears, barking deers, sambar deers, hog deers, and chitals.

 

This place is a heaven for the birds with the count exceeding 450 bird species. Not only it is the home to endangered Bengal florican but also has floricans largest population.

 

Some other birds species which grace the park are jungle fowls, egrets, pelicans, fishing eagles, great hornbills, bulbuls, brahminy ducks, kalij pheasants, crested serpent- eagles, falcons, mergansers, grey hornbills, scarlet minivets, bee-eaters, magpie robins, pied hornbills, harriers, Indian peafowl, ospreys and herons.

Tour Plan

1

Day 1

Drive for about 3 hours from Guwahati Airport to Musa Jungle retreat- your resort during the expedition. After lunch, we will leave the resort for a stroll amid nature and splendid tea estate only to return in the evening. We will have dinner and call it a day.

Day 2

Day two will start with a safari and end with a safari. Elephant safari will make for a good start of the day before breakfast. And after lunch, we will again leave for a jeep safari to Royal Manas National Park of Bhutan to spot and allure ourselves with four different Great Hornbill species. Dinner in the evening at the resort before retiring to our rooms.

Day 3

On day 3, we will go for river rafting in the morning and safari in the evening. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be in the resort only.

Day 4

It is our last day and the last meal in this beautiful resort. On the fourth day, we will check out and drive back to Guwahati Airport for our flight in the morning.

This National Park is in the South of the Himalayas and touches the border of Royal Manas National Park Bhutan.

The nearest Airport to Manas National Park is in Guwahati, which is 176 kilometers away from the National Park.
  • BY TRAIN:
The nearest railhead is merely 32 kilometers away from manas at Barpeta Road.

PICK UP AND DROP :

CANCELLATION POLICY:

Cancellation for an event will be considered via a written mail to [email protected]. The date of the mail would be considered for the calculation of the cancellation fee.

REFUND POLICY:

  • 50% fee to be refunded if cancellation is done between 120-90 days prior to the event.
  • 30% fee to be refunded if cancellation is done between 90-60 days prior to the event.
  • No refund if cancellation is done between 0-60 days of the event.
